WWI
WWI was the first war that had most of the countries in Europe involved. This war was caused by the assassination of Archduke and was supposed to be a war between Serbia and Austria-Hungary. This war became the war between the Allies and the Central Powers. The allies of these two contries got tangled up in the war and basically took over the war. The United States tried to stay out of this war but were dragged in after a few incidents. The Lusitania (G.B. cruise ship) sank and 128 americans were killed. USA intercepted a telegram from Germany where Germany told Mexico to join them and attack USA. USA joins the allies after three years of a stalemate in the war. A stalemate is when neither side of the war advances. After a few months of USA fighting in this war, the allies won the war and Germany was defeated. This affected Europe because after the war, Russia falls to Communism and Germany lost terrritory from the beginning of the war.

Darfur!
I would compare the problems in Darfur to the US back in the 1860's when we had our own civil war. We were separated into two armies, Union and Conferates, and Darfur was separated as well. A mini war broke out between these two groups in Darfur and was ended with the government involved in it.

Chris Christie as governor
Chris Christie being New Jersey's new governor over Corzine and Daggett made me happy. I wanted him to win so the taxes went down and we could save more money. Chris Christie winning also means that he is the first republican governor of New Jersey since 11 years ago. Corzine tried to put up a fight but was unable to take the lead or take the victory. Congratulations for Chriis Christie on his new accomplishment in his life and good luck to him for his adventure as the new governor of New Jersey.

What are the stereotypes that describe each of the US regions? Are they valid?
NE SE Midwest SW Rocky Pacific
In the Northeast, they are considered to be jobless.
In the Southeast, they are considered to be rednecks. They have their own accent.
In the Midwest, they are considered to be like the people in the Northeast.
In the Southwest, they are considered to be rednecks like the Southeast.
In the Rockies, they are considered to be somewhat poor and good at skiing and snowboarding.
In the Pacific, they are considered to be like the people in the Northeast.
I think that the Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, and Southwest are valid because people are jobless every year when people take their jobs and have none left for them. Also, I it's valid because southerners have different accents then people in the north.
I think the Rockies is valid because there are resorts in the area and people like to go there and snowboard or ski.
I think the Pacific is not valid because California is one of the biggest states in the USA and people can't be jobless unless people migrate there.

Favorite Place
My favorite place is the White House. I saw it when I went to Washington D.C. I was on my way to a soccer tournament. I also saw the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument. I couldn't go in because I couldn't find a parking spot so I was in traffic for 3 hours. So, I went to Virginia for my soccer tournament. I hope I have another chance to see the White House. Our tournament results weren't to good. Our first game, we tied and the second and third game we lost. The coordinates of the White House is 38 degrees north and 77 degrees east.

About Me

My name is David Cunha. My birthday is September 14. I play soccer for my high school in the fall and play soccer in the spring outside of school. I decided to take this course because it seemed interesting and I basicly had no choice. I want to be able to pass the SAT test so I can graduate from school.
